What To Do In The Midst Of A Scary Government Crackdown

The greatest threat to liberty is out-of-control government.
As our rights get chiseled away piece by piece, that threat looms larger with each passing year.
Here’s what you need to know if the government administers a terrifying crackdown.
Thomas Jefferson famously remarked, “The natural progress of things is for the government to gain ground and for liberty to yield.”
Despite progressives’ revisionist history, the Founding Fathers have been proven correct far more often than not.
And as leftists grab more power at every level of government, Jefferson’s warning is particularly palpable.
The First and Second Amendment are under relentless assault, and if radicals are successful in toppling them, the government crackdown will happen immediately.
It’s already happening in other parts of the world.
In the United Kingdom, it’s possible to get jail time for “hateful” tweets.
And as leftists activist groups like Antifa increase their militancy and acts of political violence, things can only get worse.
If a terrifying government crackdown does happen, here’s what you need to know.
First, OPSEC (operational security) becomes your top priority.
The fewer people know about your supplies, the better.
In situations like hurricanes, the executive branch has the authority to ration supplies.
The wrong politician in power with the right amount of Congressional support could extend those powers for all sorts of reasons.
For example, several Democrats running for President have said they’d take executive action to seize guns from law-abiding citizens.
Others have pushed for a gun registry.
This is why OPSEC is so important.
If the government knows about your weapons or your prepper supplies, you could instantly become a target.
Be very careful with whom you share sensitive information.
Under authoritarianism, everyone can become an emissary of the government.
Neighbors, family members, and friends all informed on each other in the nightmarish Soviet Union.
Next, if martial law is instituted in your jurisdiction, avoid military personnel at all costs.
Martial law likely means there will be a curfew enforced by the military, so don’t put yourself in situations where there could be a confrontation.
With such little oversight, all it takes is one bad actor to ruin your efforts.
Also, be sure to have a healthy stock of supplies.
Freedom of movement could be restricted, or it could be banned altogether.
So you’ll need to have plenty of water, food, and other essentials such as prescription medicine.
And again, be careful about discussing your cache of supplies.
In the worst case scenario, the government would have no reservations about seizing your property.
If the threat of a government crackdown sounds far-fetched, just remember that the Founding Fathers structured our government the way they did because they were students of history.
They understood human nature, and they saw what government could do when unchecked by the people.
Crackdowns in Venezuela, Hong Kong, and even parts of Europe should serve as a wake-up call to Americans that liberty is not guaranteed.
It must be defended by every generation.
And you can defend liberty by calling out the government when they make unconstitutional power grabs.
