Postal Workers Are Walking Off The Job Because Of Terrifying Threat

The United States is experiencing a troubling surge of violent crime in 2020.
Major cities across the country are seeing a reversal of the drop in homicides over the last few decades.
Now postal workers are walking off the job because of one terrifying threat.
Chicago has had a violent crime problem for years, but it’s shockingly gotten worse in 2020.
One serious problem Chicago is facing is the leadership—or lack thereof—from their progressive state attorney Kim Foxx.
Foxx was one of the district attorneys bankrolled by billionaire globalist George Soros.
She has been dropping cases against criminals at a far greater rate than her predecessors.
Now Chicago is dealing with an increase in violence against postal workers.
From Fox News:
“United States Postal workers who deliver mail in some of Chicago’s more violent neighborhoods are threatening to halt their services after a mail carrier was shot in the city’s South Side earlier this month. The carrier, a 24-year-old woman, was left critically (sic) and injured after being shot multiple times…while delivering mail…Police said the worker did not appear to be the target and had been caught in the crossfire during a drive-by.”
Ironically, Democrats have been championing USPS workers in response to criticisms over the efficacy of mail-in voting. They argue that the Postal Service was under attack from Donald Trump, but now that postal workers are literally under attack, the Democrats are mum.
Fox News continued:
“[S]he was the second mail carrier wounded by gunfire on that route. Another mail carrier, also caught in the middle of gunfire, was shot in March while on the job but survived. A day after the second worker was shot, another USPS employee was hit with a paintball in Chicago’s South Side.”
Multiple postal workers getting shot doesn’t do much for the left because it’s not politically useful; the left-wing narrative is that neighborhoods are only dangerous because of the police.
However, Mack Julion, president of the Chicago Chapter of the National Association of Letter Carriers said, “Any letter carrier who does not feel safe in any one of these communities then they are not to deliver mail and customers have to pick up their mail…We are not going to have another situation where the letter carrier is shot down.”
Julion’s plea could fall on deaf ears because Democrats can’t skew too far from the party line, which is that unrest in the streets is “mostly peaceful.”
During the summer, Chicago tragically suffered its most violent day in six decades. In the wake of the George Floyd protests, 18 Chicagoans were murdered within a 24-hour span.
While the left is screaming to defund the police, law-abiding citizens in these neighborhoods are begging for more police presence.
If postal workers in Chicago refuse to deliver the mail, it’s a crystal clear example of how violent crime can ruin a city.
Citizens are deprived of services, and businesses flee, leaving less economic opportunity.
