The Wuhan virus has led to an unprecedented lockdown of the United States.
Many citizens are getting fed up with the shelter in place orders from their local officials.
And one police officer told the shocking truth about lockdown procedures.
In the United States, there are now 1.5 million confirmed cases of the virus and close to 90,000 deaths.
However, the number of cases is declining daily.
American citizens were largely on board with undertaking drastic measures to “flatten the curve” and ensure that the healthcare system wasn’t overwhelmed.
But this came at great economic cost; 30 million Americans find themselves unemployed and many small businesses will never recover.
Now Americans are ready to responsibly get back to work and resume their lives.
But big-government officials around the country seem determined to keep the lockdown orders in place indefinitely.
And not only are citizens getting fed up with it, but police officers too.
Greg Anderson of the Seattle Police Department posted a video on social media that explained why the lockdown has gone too far.
He said, “I’m seeing people arrested or cited for going to church…I don’t know what crime people are committing for doing nails in their own house. We have to ask ourselves as officers, is what I am doing right?”
If police officers are losing confidence in these draconian laws, it’s a clear indication that the lockdown orders are causing more harm than good.
“Regardless of where you stand on the coronavirus, we don’t have the authority to do those things to people just because a mayor or a governor tells you otherwise. I don’t care if it’s your sergeant, your chief of police, we don’t get to violate people’s constitutional rights because somebody in our chain of command tells us otherwise,” Anderson stated.
The shelter in place orders have gone too far. Some officials have even tried to use the lockdown to curtail Second Amendment rights.
Unsurprisingly, Anderson was suspended for his social media post and was told to take it down to have the suspension lifted.
So far he’s refused and it could result in his termination.
Now that the initial shock of the pandemic has worn off and the American people did their part in reducing its spread, partisan politics have taken over.
Democrats are eager to extend the lockdown for as long as possible, but it’s put the authoritarian governors in a bind – their citizens are anxious to get back to work, go to church, or simply lie on the beach.
The American people were tested in an extraordinary way, but their patience is running out.
