The Wuhan virus has done more damage than most could have imagined.
Over 1 million people are dead worldwide and the economic toll is still being calculated.
But one official gave a terrifying warning about the coronavirus.
The Wuhan virus has made 2020 one of the most challenging years in modern history.
Over 1 million people around the globe are dead and there’s still no vaccine available.
In response to the pandemic, many governments have resorted to draconian lockdown measures to control the spread and protect healthcare systems from being overwhelmed.
However, particularly in America, lockdown procedures have gone too far, and one German official is sounding the alarm.
Gerd Muller, Minister of Economic Development, warns that the harsh lockdowns will result in more deaths than from the virus itself.
In an interview with a German newspaper, Muller says, “We expect an additional 400,000 deaths from malaria and HIV this year on the African continent alone…Half a million more will die from tuberculosis.”
Muller argues the lockdowns will lead to one of the largest hunger and poverty epidemics in recent memory.
“The supply of food and medication is no longer guaranteed…Many of the West’s aid programs are not adequately funded,” he said.
The supply chain disruption has been immense.
Many countries have either moved or are in the process of moving manufacturing out of China.
Not only did the Chinese Communist Party allow the virus to allegedly escape from a biohazard lab in Wuhan, but the CCP also hoarded essential medical supplies and pharmaceutical drugs.
The pandemic was a wakeup call for those who didn’t understand China as a geopolitical threat.
Muller also argued that the food and supply disruption could lead to another humanitarian crisis – mass migration into Europe from the Middle East and Northern Africa.
Europe is still having difficulty assimilating such large numbers of people all at once.
The problem is compounded by leftist governments who are beholden to multiculturalism and the idea that it would be inappropriate for migrants to assimilate to their host country’s values.
As more science trickles out about the pandemic, the justification for the lockdowns is dwindling.
Countries like Sweden that didn’t lock down are not experiencing a secondary spike in cases.
Lockdowns do nothing but delay the spread of the virus.
The better option is to isolate the elderly and other people with comorbidities while allowing young and healthy individuals to go about their lives.
Locking down until there’s a cure has become an untenable position.
Yet, some lockdown zealots believe it’s appropriate to continue with our current plan for two full years.
As insane as this is, the so-called mainstream media have been pushing similar ideas and stoking fear.
Facts over fear need to rule the day if the country is ever going to move forward.
