Gun rights are under assault by the left like never before.
Politicians have openly discussed gun confiscation policies.
But gun-grabbers just got some news that has them deeply concerned.
Gun control activists have been spreading anti-gun propaganda for years, Americans aren’t buying it anymore.
It turns out that 2020 hit a record number for gun sales in the United States.
Through the month of October, over 16.5 million guns were sold, eclipsing the previous record from 2016 by 1.6 million.
And with two months still left in the year – along with the dubious results of the 2020 election –the 2016 record will be shattered by even more gun purchases.
There are three main reasons for the rise in gun sales. First, uncertainty over the Wuhan virus and convicted felons being released early sent people flocking to their neighborhood gun shops.
Many stores, most noticeably in heavy blue areas, had their inventory picked over.
Over 40% of gun purchases in 2020 have been made by first-time gun owners.
Second, the nationwide rioting and looting sparked by the death of George Floyd gave people another reason to get serious about self-defense.
Police departments in Democrat-run cities were handcuffed by feckless leaders and mobs began venturing into the suburbs. Meanwhile, the corporate press worked overtime to convince people that the mayhem occurring in the streets was mostly peaceful.
Third, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris campaigned on a platform of outright gun confiscation.
Mark Oliva of the National Shooting Sports Foundation said:
“It cannot be discounted that today’s gun buyers are faced with polar opposites of presidential candidates when it comes to protecting Second Amendment rights…President Donald Trump vowed to safeguard this right and former vice president Joe Biden and his running mate, Senator Kamala Harris, have both embraced outright confiscation of lawfully owned firearms as the headliner of the most far-reaching gun-control agenda to be presented to the American voter.”
Furthermore, Biden tapped former presidential hopeful Beto O’Rourke to head-up his gun control initiative – and Americans remember well what O’Rourke said during one Democrat debate, “Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15.”
Despite the rhetoric coming from gun control groups and the so-called mainstream media, the American people have spoken.
“America is watching and is already voting with their wallets when it comes to lawful firearm ownership…This has been a sustained period of firearm sales since March. This is clearly not a one-off event,” Oliva said.
And while gun control politicians have pushed hard for new gun laws, many of their initiatives were beaten down.
The citizens of Virginia stood up to defeat gun control measures in their state, and sheriffs around the country vowed not to enforce intrusive “red flag” laws or declared their jurisdictions as gun sanctuaries.
With more people owning a firearm and realizing the lies and misconceptions about gun owners, gun-grabbers are going to have a hard time overturning the Second Amendment.
