Easy 60-Second Mosquito Trap

We all hate mosquitoes. It doesn’t really matter who you are. They are annoying pests who have the added inconvenience of carrying diseases such as encephalitis and West Nile virus.

So, in a survival situation, both for your comfort (because a SHTF situation doesn’t mean we have to be miserable) and for your health, you need to have a good way to control these little pests.

Fortunately, an easy solution is readily available to you, and you have a good chance of having the necessary materials available. To make this misquito trap you need a two liter soda bottle, a knife, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, a teaspoon of yeast, and a cup of warm water.

You’ll use the knife to cut off the top of the soda bottle and then combine the ingredients in the bottom of the soda bottle. You will then invert the top of the soda bottle so that the pouring spout faces down into the bottle, thus making a difficult escape route for the little critters that are attracted to the sugar / yeast solution. Simple and effective.

Watch the process below.
