Does the Bible Command People To Be Preppers?

While many preppers are Christians, this is by no means a universal descriptor for all preppers. However, many Christians who are not preppers may be surprised how clearly the Bible talks about being prepared for foreseeable situations.

For example, in Genesis 6:21 (KJV), God tells Noah,

“And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.”

If you know the Biblical story, you know what happened to those who didn’t prepare, and it wasn’t pretty.

How about this passage? Proverbs 27:12 (KJV):

“A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.”

Again, we see the principle of being prepared so that, when a difficult situation happens, we are ready to handle the situation, and our family is protected.

It seems pretty clear that Bible advises us to use wisdom and be prepared. What do you think: is the Bible on track on this or are we off track in mentioning it? Sound off below.
