Doctors Are Sounding the Alarm on One Dangerous Coronavirus Policy

Coronavirus

The Wuhan virus continues to be a living nightmare for the United States.

So-called experts have pulled the country in various directions.

But now doctors are sounding the alarm on one dangerous coronavirus policy.

The death toll for coronavirus patients has reached 100,000 in the United States.

As harrowing as that number is, the damage done by the unprecedented shutdown of the economy could lead to thousands and thousands of deaths of despair.

This tragic reality came to fruition after the Great Recession of 2008.

Recently, life expectancy decreased for the first time in decades.

The fallout from the coronavirus lockdowns could be just as monstrous.

There are nearly 40 million people unemployed, and thousands of small businesses are going to go away forever.

This has led many doctors and social scientists to conclude that extended lockdowns could actually be worse than the virus itself.

Doctors who have pointed out similar trends have been silenced on social media platforms like YouTube.

However, despite the efforts to silence those opinions, the facts keep bubbling up.

Even pro-lockdown governors like Andrew Cuomo have had to admit that the lockdowns could actually be leading to higher rates of infection.

Now a group of 500 doctors is urging Donald Trump to end the lockdowns.

In the letter, the doctors write:

“We are alarmed at what appears to be the lack of consideration for the future health of our patients. The downstream health effects of deteriorating a level are being massively under-estimated and under-reported. This is an order of magnitude error.”

This is sadly true.

Screenings for cancer have fallen precipitously as patients have been instructed to avoid the hospitals unless they’re experiencing coronavirus symptoms.

Also, “elective” procedures like hip replacements or cataract surgeries have been postponed, diminishing quality of life.

The lockdowns have also made it more difficult for the elderly and infirm to access fresh groceries.

The letter continued:

“In youths it will be called financial instability, unemployment, despair, drug addiction, unplanned pregnancies, poverty, and abuse…Suicide hotline phone calls have increased 600%.”

Alcohol sales have skyrocketed as well.

The letter concluded:

“Because the harm is diffuse, there are those that hold it does not exist. We, the undersigned, know otherwise.”

Hospitals have actually begun to let medical staff go because there isn’t enough occupancy.

The American people were told they needed to shelter in place to protect hospitals from being overrun.

Not only did that not happen, but some field hospitals built to supplement existing hospitals barely saw any patients at all.

One field hospital in New York City saw zero coronavirus patients.

The purpose of the lockdown was clear, but those parameters were met a long time ago.

The healthcare system isn’t going to be overwhelmed.
