Development In George Floyd Case Could Put The Country In Serious Danger

George Floyd

The tragic death of George Floyd unleashed a torrent of mayhem across America.

Rioting, looting, and even murder have sadly become commonplace in the wake of the Floyd protests.

Now one development in the Floyd case could put the country in serious danger.

Police officer Derek Chauvin became public enemy number one when he was filmed kneeling on the neck of George Floyd for 8 minutes and 46 seconds.

The gut-wrenching video sparked nationwide outrage and was quickly exploited by radical leftists.

Far-left Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison was brought in to handle the prosecution of Chauvin and the three other officers at the scene.

Ellison charged Chauvin with second and third-degree murder and the other officers with aiding and abetting in second-degree murder.

But the judge in the case just dropped the third-degree murder charge against Chauvin.

KARE Minneapolis News reports:

“Second-degree murder is the traditional murder charge that’s been filed against Chauvin, while second-degree manslaughter is the most common charge used against officers in deadly use of force cases. Third-degree murder is a rarely used statute in Minnesota…According to Minnesota law, murder in the third degree is committed when there isn’t intent or premeditation. A typical use of the third-degree murder charge would be used against a person who fired a gun in to a crowd or drove through a crowded sidewalk.”

This means that Chauvin can’t be convicted on a lesser charge.

It’s all or nothing, and it’s going to be difficult for the prosecution to prove “intent or premeditation” on the part of Chauvin.

The case got even more complicated after extended video of the incident emerged.

The video showed Chauvin and the officers being relatively cordial with Floyd as he was having a fit in the backseat of the police car.

Floyd, who had a lethal amount of fentanyl in his system, begged the officers to let him out of the car so he could lie down.

There’s even evidence suggesting that Minneapolis police officers were trained to use Chauvin’s technique to restrain suspects.

All of this points to the growing possibility that Chauvin could be acquitted on second-degree murder charges.

If that happens, the radicals on the left will incite another round of deadly riots, perhaps even deadlier than before.

The so-called mainstream media have been not only derelict in their duty in covering the riots, but they’ve encouraged them by inaccurately reporting on these high-profile cases involving police.

Dozens of Americans have been killed as a result of the ongoing protests sparked by Floyd’s death.

The domestic terror groups Antifa and Black Lives Matter have been responsible for virtually all of it.

Meanwhile, the radicalism of Black Lives Matter has been allowed to stay under the radar.

The group has pulled in literally hundreds of millions of dollars from corporations and small contributions.

Tragedies like the death of George Floyd have become a cottage industry for left-wing activists and media outlets looking to push a narrative.
