Problems at the southern border continue to plague America.
And Democrat politicians are creating some of the biggest obstacles for fixing the problem.
Now Democrats are pushing an insane policy that would worsen the border crisis.
Unfettered illegal immigration from Mexico and South America is a serious problem.
Huge waves of unskilled labor flowing into the country put downward pressure on wages, strains social services, and increases the Democrats’ voting bloc.
The latter point is the most critical because first-generation Americans tend to vote Democrat 80% of the time.
Many are coming from socialist countries where there is no opportunity, but they are more concerned with immediate issues than the long-term economic health of the country.
The process of assimilation tends to even out the voting patterns after a couple of generations, but that’s becoming more difficult with so many people coming in at unmanageable speeds.
And the Democrats are pushing for a policy that would make the problem worse.
They want all transgender immigrants in ICE custody to be released immediately.
House Democrats drafted a letter that will be sent to Acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf and Acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Matthew Albence.
The letter reads:
“We write to demand the release of all transgender people currently detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Transgender migrants and asylum seekers are particularly vulnerable to sexual harassment, solitary confinement, physical assault, and medical neglect. These inhumane conditions and systematic abuses are evidenced in countless reports and accounts by formally detained people.”
The Democrats literally want to create different rules for different groups of people.
In addition, this would create a pretense for open borders.
All it would take is a bogus claim of transgenderism to be released.
The number of transgender claims would magically increase by an exponential amount.
This move makes it clear that open borders is the goal for Democrats.
Most won’t come out and say it directly.
Instead, they chip away at border enforcement with asinine proposals like this.
During Democrat primary debates, multiple candidates said they provide healthcare to illegal aliens.
If they had their way, not only would America be on the hook for supplying health care to the world, but “life-affirming” surgeries for transgender individuals too.
The state of Illinois has already pushed to expand Medicaid to include transgender surgery.
This is the Democrats plan for the entire country.
The transgender movement is the left’s latest gambit to seize power.
Leftists use group grievances for political gain.
Their divide and conquer strategy weakens over time when people get hip to the game they’re playing, so they need a new group.
But they’ve gone so far in identity politics that transgender “rights” are now trampling over women’s rights.
The left can’t help but cannibalize itself because their wild, conflicting ideas can’t hold together.
It’s chilling to think about the damage Democrats will do if they regain power in November 2020.
