The coronavirus continues to spread around the globe.
Cases are popping up in the United States and health officials are concerned.
And the coronavirus could spread in the U.S. for a reason that has Donald Trump furious.
The number of coronavirus cases has ballooned past 90,000, resulting in over 3,100 deaths.
It originated in Wuhan, China, but has now become a pandemic that’s affected multiple continents.
The number of confirmed cases in the United States has reached 100 with 6 people dying.
And the spread of the virus could get even worse for a reason that has Donald Trump furious.
The State Department chose to bring infected patients back to the United States after having contracted the virus in Asia.
The move was made against Trump’s wishes by a little-known wing in the State Department called the Directorate of Operational Medicine within the Bureau of Medical Services.
The name of the obscure department itself speaks to the administrative bloat that has corrupted government at the federal level.
And the head of the Directorate is William Walters, a holdover from the Obama administration.
Once again, deep state officials are running their own playbook instead of following Trump’s directive.
One of the reasons the coronavirus had been slow in reaching the United States was because Trump restricted travel from Asia against the wishes of the globalist entity known as the World Health Organization (WHO).
While the State Department assures that all precautions were taken in the transport of the infected patients, the President clearly didn’t want to take the risk in the first place.
Also, little is known about the coronavirus.
According to researchers, the incubation period could be as long as 24 days, meaning carriers without symptoms can unknowingly spread the disease far and wide.
And scientists at the University of Texas at Austin posited that the coronavirus is 20 times more transmissible than SARS, which infected 8,000 people and killed 774.
Bringing back infected patients against the President’s wishes with such scant knowledge about the coronavirus could be considered a blunder.
Walters defended his action by stating, “The question was simply this: Are these evacuees? And do we follow our protocol? And the answer to that was yes on both accounts.”
But it isn’t that simple because the patients were infected, and Trump had established a direction for staving off the virus in the United States.
This is the problem with the deep state.
Unelected bureaucrats get to call their own plays and operate in virtual anonymity while the administration gets tagged with all of their mistakes.
Walters was the same deep state official who handled the Ebola response, which has been heavily criticized.
Health officials are scrambling to create a vaccine, but the spread has already begun.
Thus far, the mortality rate for the coronavirus is low, but since it’s easily passed, it can still do damage.
And economically, it’s already done significant damage to global finance.
Until China gets its house in order, the global supply chain is going to be disrupted.
