China’s Involvement In The Coronavirus Spread Is Worse Than We Thought

China Coronavirus

The Wuhan coronavirus continues to spread at an alarming pace.

The number of confirmed cases will soon surpass 1 million.

And China’s involvement in the coronavirus spread is worse than we thought.

A whistleblower for the Greenland Group, a Chinese-backed company in Sydney, Australia, informed the press that workers at the company were informed to send bulk medical supplies back to China.

While China and the World Health Organization (WHO), working at the behest of the Chinese government, were downplaying the severity of the disease, Chinese-backed companies were recalling medical supplies.

This is a disturbing revelation and shows that China cannot be trusted with sensitive manufacturing and supply chain pipelines.

China has proven over and over to be a bellicose foreign power with an agenda.

They’ve been benefiting from absurd trade imbalances and stolen intellectual property for decades.

The Communist Party of China also took over critical antibiotics production by flooding the market with cheap products using near-slave labor conditions, only to mark up the price later after squeezing out other competitors.

This has left the United States and other countries beholden to China during a national crisis.

And in the midst of the crisis, China is recalling medical supplies, and simply confiscating masks that were set to be delivered to other countries.

Worse yet, many European countries are rejecting medical equipment from China because they were either faulty or not designed to specifications.

The Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, Georgia, and the Czech Republic are all rejecting equipment from China due to poorly made products.

In light of having to recall 600,000 medical masks, the Dutch health ministry announced:

“Health care workers have been informed and told not to use the masks. Due to the shortages, we can find ourselves in a situation where only protective equipment is available that does not meet the highest standards…This is an issue in all countries.”

Once this crisis subsides, there will need to be serious discussions about how the United States conducts business in China.

The country has already reopened the wet markets that were responsible for the spread of the coronavirus, so another infectious disease outbreak could happen again.

The negligence and deception of the Chinese government has done untold damage to the world economy and cost tens of thousands of lives.

The entire saga proves that Donald Trump has been right on his approach in dealing with China.

The idea of China liberalizing culturally with the acceptance of free trade hasn’t materialized.

Instead, the authoritarian country has gotten rich while spreading its authoritarianism to other countries.

Prior to the NBA season being shut down, there was a major disruption when Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey tweeted support for pro-Democracy protesters in Hong Kong.

The NBA and shoe companies are so beholden to the Chinese market, the backlash to Morey was shocking.

We aren’t exporting our values to China.

The opposite is happening, and the consequences have been severe.
