The Wuhan coronavirus remains the top public health crisis in decades.
Health officials around the world are working tirelessly to stop the spread of the pandemic.
But China’s big coronavirus lie is causing one huge problem.
There are now over 1.3 million confirmed cases of the Wuhan coronavirus around the globe and nearly 74,000 people have died.
However, these numbers could be significantly off because of a big lie China told.
According to a report from three unnamed U.S. officials, the Communist Party of China has been underreporting their number of coronavirus cases and fatalities.
From Bloomberg News:
“But the thrust…is that China’s public reporting on cases and deaths is intentionally incomplete. Two of the officials said the report concludes that China’s numbers are fake.”
This comes after China had declared victory over the virus and reopened society, only to reverse course and lockdown Wuhan again.
Despite re-entrenching, China claims they have no new instances of the coronavirus.
But there are reports coming out of Wuhan province that funeral homes are running crematoriums nonstop and ordering thousands of urns.
China’s deception has had serious effects on how world health officials have had to make informed decisions.
For example, China told the World Health Organization (WHO) that the coronavirus was not spread from human to human interaction.
However, this was not accurate.
During a recent press conference, one of the top doctors on the Coronavirus Task Force, Dr. Deborah Birx, said, “The medical community made — interpreted the Chinese data as: This was serious, but smaller than anyone expected…Because I think probably we were missing a significant amount of the data, now that what we see happened to Italy and see what happened to Spain.”
The outbreak began mid-November, but the Chinese government did little to alert the public before it spiraled out of control.
Once that happened, China silenced doctors, healthcare administrators, and arrested journalists.
They even resorted to welding citizens inside their apartments.
But they also let millions of people leave Wuhan in the process – and supposedly 50,000 of those then traveled to the United States.
China has botched the handling of the outbreak from the start and their lies have made the crisis so much worse.
A study from Southampton University showed that 95% of the pandemic could have been contained had China acted three weeks earlier.
Instead, healthcare systems around the world are overwhelmed and trillions in wealth has been stripped from the global economy.
Because of this, countries are beginning to rethink how they should conduct business in the future with China.
