Joe Biden isn’t wasting any time unraveling the successful policies put in place during the Trump administration.
The D.C. Swamp is putting its interests ahead of the American people.
Now Biden reversed one Trump policy that will ignite the border crisis.
Joe Biden is signing executive orders at a torrid pace and the country is suffering in the process.
The Democrats are moving full speed ahead on job-killing green initiatives and outrageous minimum wage hikes.
But perhaps Biden’s most destructive policies are in the area of immigration.
Biden has already stopped construction on the border wall, frozen deportations, and vastly ramped up the number of refugees coming into the country.
Now Biden is making significant changes to the asylum process.
His administration announced an end to a program that required asylum seekers to request asylum in Guatemala if crossed through the country (or Honduras or El Salvador).
Biden already reversed a similar agreement with Mexico.
The move means that the disastrous policy of catch-and-release is back on the menu.
Border crossers who claim asylum in the United States will be, once again, released into the interior of the country until their court date arrives. Of course, since over 90% of asylum claims are deemed illegitimate, most asylum claimants simply never show up.
Secretary of State Tony Blinken said that “the United States is a country with borders and laws that must be enforced,” but the actions of the Biden administration signal the opposite.
From The Wall Street Journal:
“Andrew Selee, the president of the Washington-based Migration Policy Institute. ‘It remains to be seen what the new architecture of shared responsibility in the region will look like.’
Mr. Selee said the risk for Mr. Biden was that it was giving up the tools used by the Trump administration to contain migration without yet having in place a new set of tools. ‘And that creates a risk of increased irregular flows in the meantime.’”
Migrant caravans from Central America are already approaching the southern border and many travelers have made it clear they expect Biden to take care of them when they arrive.
More from The Journal:
“[Guatemala] also warned its people not to ‘risk their health, wealth and lives’ to undertake the dangerous trip to the U.S. The government urged Guatemalans not to listen to smugglers who promote illegal migration and falsely claim that the presence of minors will guarantee entrance into the U.S.”
The documentary film “America’s Forgotten” highlighted the problem of human traffickers duping migrants with promises of riches in America.
The traffickers’ main selling points are the words from Democrat politicians given in interviews and debates.
It’s telling that the Biden administration is prioritizing increased migration into the country in the midst of a global pandemic and an economic crisis with tens of millions of Americans out of work.
Biden clearly does not believe that the well-being of the American people is his prime duty as commander-in-chief.
