Many people, especially in the mainstream media, like to make fun of preppers as paranoid and out of touch with reality. While that is certainly true in some cases (every group has it’s own fringe loonies), that is by no means the total picture. In fact, the media may be surprised to find that some of the most financially successful people in the world are preppers.
They just take it to a whole new level than your average prepper.
Preppers of all sorts, whether wealthy or not, prepare for the possibility of the awful happening, but, as the saying goes, just because you’re paranoid, it doesn’t mean that they’re not out to get you. According to theblaze.com, the fact of the matter is that wealthy preppers:
“are buying up spots in luxurious bomb-proof shelters across the globe due to fears of civil unrest and other possible apocalyptic scenarios.
“Vivos, the main construction company behind the survival shelter complexes, states that the facilities were created for the ‘protection of high net worth individuals’ if an apocalyptic-style catastrophe occurred. One of the company’s biggest shelters, Europa One, is located in Germany and seeks to offer buyers ‘one of the most fortified and massive underground survival shelters on Earth, deep below a limestone mountain’ that is ‘safely secured from the general public, behind sealed and secured walls, gates and blast doors.'” (hat tip to here for the source)
It’s pretty incredible, when you actually see it. The luxury is opulent (what else would you expect for a “home” that costs you $2-3 million?). Of course, what makes this different from normal preppers is that normal preppers want to actually be prepared by having the skills to survive. The wealthy who buy these type of bunkers are paying someone else to do everything for them. That’s not something any self-respecting prepper is going to want to do. Take a look at some of these places here:
So, if you’re getting ready for “the apocalypse,” you’re in good company. Smart people who have to know what is actually happening in society are doing the same thing as you. Now you can legitimately say that you hobnob (at least in how you think) with the richest of the rich.
